This rendering is a closer look at the cooling system. All the heatsink materials are made from copper. The cooling coil is hand bent using a mandrel (round chunk of metal) and small radius tubing bender. The water is filled via the fill cap under pressure so there is no air in the system. The connections from machined parts to tube are all sweat soldered and the mechanical connections all use O-Rings. The laser diode is held in the center of the heatsink using 3 setscrews and thermal grease. This cooling assembly is insulated from the scepter housing.
